Zarema Musaeva transferred to another colony

A court in Pyatigorsk has postponed the consideration of the appeal against the verdict of Zarema Musaeva for a month due to her inability to take part in the court session via video conferencing.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 3, 2023, an advocate from the "Team against Torture"* asked the Pyatigorsk cassation court to overturn the sentence passed on Zarema Musaeva in Chechnya due to the unjustified and law violations. On July 4, 2023, the court sentenced Musaeva to 5.5 years and six months in prison for assaulting a policeman. On September 12, 2023, the Supreme Court (SC) of Chechnya reduced Musaeva's sentence to five years.

Alexander Savin, an advocate, learned about her transfer from the colony-settlement in Argun to another colony, the TaT* wrote in its Telegram channel.

*The "Team against Torture" (TaT, formerly the "Committee against Torture" – CaT) was created by the lawyers who had earlier worked for the CaT, which was included into the register of the NCOs performing the functions of foreign agents.
