Election commissions report more than 85% for Vladimir Putin in Southern Russia amid complaints of violations
In the regions of Southern Russia, Vladimir Putin gets the most votes – 99.28% – in Chechnya. The least number of votes was recorded in the Astrakhan Region, where, according to election commissions, 86.67% voted for the current head of state, reports the information released by the Russian Central Election Commission (CEC).
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that during the third day of the voting in the Southern Federal District (SFD), complaints were recorded about ballot stuffing, violation of the secrecy of voting, and an attack on an observer. According to the “Violations Map” project, 142 violations were reported. In the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), voters complained about coercion to vote and violation of campaign rules.
According to election commissions’ reports, after the start of ballot processing in the Southern Federal District (SFD) and the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), Vladimir Putin wins the Russian presidential election with more than 85% of the votes, the “Interfax” reports with reference to the information released by the Central Election Commission (CEC) on a scoreboard.
Vladimir Putin received the greatest support in Chechnya, where, based on the results of processing 2.69% of ballots, he received 99.28% of the votes. The second place in the republic went to Leonid Slutsky from the Liberal-Democratic Party of the Russian Federation (LDPR) with 0.47% of the votes, and the third place went to Nikolai Kharitonov from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), who gained 0.28%.
