Krasnodar student fined for financing FBK*

A court fined a student from Krasnodar 300,000 roubles, finding him guilty of financing the Anti-Corruption Foundation*.

According to the investigators’ version, in August 2021, the student, being a supporter of the activities of the Anti-Corruption Foundation* (known as FBK), watched a video entitled “We continue, and we need your help”, which contained information that the FBK* was recognized extremist organization. The student responded to a call for financial assistance and transferred one thousand roubles to one of the US banks.

The student repented of his act and claimed that he was not interested in politics, but transferred the money without thinking about anything, the joint press service for the courts of the Krasnodar Territory reported in its Telegram channel.

When imposing the punishment, the court has taken into account that the student has actively contributed to solving the crime, has sporting achievements, and actively participates in the public life of the law faculty where he studies.

The “Caucasian Knot” has also reported that in Temryuk, a court sentenced hacker Andrei Kovalenko to five years of imprisonment for creating malware and financing FBK*.

*The Anti-Corruption Foundation (known as FBK) was included into the register of foreign agents, recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the territory of the Russian Federation. Alexei Navalny, a founder of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (known as FBK), was included into the register of extremists and terrorists by the “Rosfinmonitoring” (the Russian Federal Service for Financial Monitoring) and was also sentenced to 19 years of imprisonment in a criminal case on extremism. Alexei Navalny was recognized as a “prisoner of conscience.”
