Friday namaz in Astrakhan mosque ends in detentions

In Astrakhan, law enforcers blocked the exits from the Red Mosque and checked believers' documents; some Muslims were put into buses, believers have reported. The press service of the regional branch of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has informed that the above raid was conducted near the mosque with the aim to identify violators of the migration legislation.

One of the believers who have visited the Juma namaz (Friday prayer) at the Red Mosque today told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that there were a lot of law enforcers, and a bus full of detainees stood near the mosque.

The law enforcers did not explain to the believers the reasons for the raid, even when they asked about it. Believers themselves have linked the incident with the terror acts committed in Dagestan.

Let us remind you that following the raids conducted after the terror act in Crocus City Hall near Moscow, law enforcers reported massive violations of the migration legislation. Thus, in the Rostov Region, 46 citizens of Central Asia were ordered to leave Russia. Human rights defenders have treated the fight for migration legality as a show.
