Court arrests Krasnodar violinist for slogan in support of Ukraine

The Leninsky District Court of Krasnodar has arrested for days Marina Nasonova, a violinist of the Kuban Symphony Orchestra, for a phrase in support of Ukraine she has posted in the messenger.

Marina Nasonova was found guilty of demonstrating extremist symbols in the Kuban Symphony Orchestra group in the WhatsApp*, which consists of more than 90 subscribers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that a court had fined Olga Verkhososova, a resident of Sochi, by 40,000 roubles, treating her slogan in support of Ukraine voiced out in the presence of Russian militaries as discredit the Russian Army.

*On March 21, 2022, the Tverskoi Court of Moscow banned the activities in Russia of the Meta Company, owning the Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, in connection with extremist activities.
