Human rights defenders report whereabouts of Aishat Magomedova, who escaped from domestic violence

Aishat Magomedova, who was kidnapped by her relatives in Moscow on July 31, is alive and is staying with the relatives in Kizilyurt. At a police station, a friend of Aishat Magomedova watched a video in which Aishat Magomedova, with bruises on her face, asked “not to make a fuss,” human rights defenders reported.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that relatives forcibly took 18-year-old Aishat Magomedova, who escaped from domestic violence, from her apartment in Moscow. The human rights defenders believe that Aishat Magomedova is in danger.

“Considering the circumstances, there is every reason to believe that the video was made under pressure from the Aishat’s relatives,” the “Marem” human rights project noted.

A friend of Aishat Magomedova said that the police explained there would be “no sense” in reporting the girl’s kidnapping. A police inspector stated that “it was her parents, the girl had been on a spree, and they brought her home.” “We have checked the case. She has bruises, maybe they taught her smarts. She probably wasn’t a good student,” the police inspector is quoted as saying.

The human rights defenders intend to file a complaint about the kidnapping. “We don’t believe that the beaten girl, who was forcibly dragged out of her home, who ran away after many years of torture, can be okay,” the human rights defenders emphasize.

The “Caucasian Knot” has also reported that relatives of Liya Zaurbekova, a 19-year-old native of Chechnya, who ran away from her family because of permanent pressure, found her in Moscow. Liya Zaurbekova, who left the country, asked not to look for her and claimed that she feared being forced to return to her family.
