Three Jehovah's Witnesses* accused of extremism in Krasnodar Territory

Residents of the village of Vyselki, Vladimir Lepsky, Irina Ushakova and Natalia Novoseletskaya participated in meetings and training events in order to continue the activities of the banned religious organization "Jehovah's Witnesses of the Vyselkovsky District", investigators assert.

A criminal case was opened against them this March for taking part in activities of an extremist organization. Searches were conducted at their residences. Lepsky, Novoseletskaya and Ushakova are under a recognizance not to leave the place, the "OVD Info"** project reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on July 17, 2024, law enforcers accused a resident of the Pavlovsky District of extremism. According to investigators, he studied banned extremist literature and tried to recruit new members to the ranks of Jehovah's Witnesses*.

*396 Russian organizations of Jehovah's Witnesses are recognized as extremist, and their activities in Russia are banned by court's decision.
