Kuban zoo defender found guilty of discrediting Russian Army

The Tikhoretsky District Court has found the pacifist statements placed in a zoo defending chat as discrediting the Russian Army, Denis Djalaganiya has informed. At the same time, investigators have refused to initiate a criminal case on his beating, in which the denunciation author took part.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after the denunciation for his pacifist posts in the above chat, an administrative protocol was drawn up against Denis Djalaganiya, a public inspector for the animal treatment, for discrediting the Russian Army.

Three men beat Djalaganiya up when he tried to check the conditions of keeping dogs in a shelter for stray animals. One of the beaters wrote a denunciation on the activist, accusing him of discrediting Russian militaries. On August 9, Djalaganiya was denied opening a criminal case. The shelter owner claimed that Denis had accused her of cruelty to animals without due proofs.

According to Djalaganiya, he was immediately made to understand in court that he would be found guilty. He has noted that since July 12, 2024, the shelter employees who had beaten him up have not yet been punished; and he was denied a criminal case against them.

Djalaganiya said that he was attacked again when he was saving a dog, for which the attacker was fined by 5000 roubles. "For beating a person who defended a dog 5000 roubles, and for pacifist words – up to 50,000 roubles or jail in the event of a criminal case," Denis has noted.
