Novosibirsk: activist demands inquiry into Seda Suleimanova's abduction

Elena Tardasova-Yun, an activist from Novosibirsk, has held a solo picket demanding an investigation into the disappearance of Seda Suleimanova in Chechnya.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 29 and July 6, 2024, Elena Tardasova-Yun held two solo pickets demanding an investigation into Suleimanova's disappearance.

"It's terrible that in the 21st century we have to remind people that a woman is not domestic cattle and she can't be disposed of at relatives' discretion," Elena Tardasova-Yun stated on June 29 during her picket, explaining that the reason for her action was the investigators' formal reply sent to Elena Patyaeva.

"Huge thanks to Elena for not giving up and continuing to support my demand – to investigate the Seda's case!" Elena Patyaeva wrote in her Telegram channel.

On October 18, Patyaeva reported that the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) had forwarded her request to the Chechen Branch thereof to take Seda's case under federal control or to investigate it in Saint Petersburg, where Suleimanova was detained.
