Zarema Musaeva faces new criminal case
An investigator questioned Zarema Musaeva concerning an attack on a penal colony warder who accompanied her to hospital. Zarema Musaeva claims she did not attack anyone.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on October 21, in Chechnya, a court postponed the consideration of a complaint lodged against the refusal to release Zarema Musaeva due to her hospitalization, which the defence insisted on. Earlier, on June 27, the Shali District Court for the second time did not grant the motion for conditional early relief (CER) of Zarema Musaeva. The court justified its refusal by stating that Zarema Musaeva did not compensate for the damage in the fraud case and was placed on preventive registration list in the penal colony.
Today, it has become known that on October 29, Zarema Musaeva was questioned by an investigator from the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF). The investigator arrived to the penal colony in the city of Argun, where Zarema Musaeva is serving her sentence, the “Team Against Torture”* reports.
According to the Zarema Musaeva’s version, she was questioned by the investigator, as she allegedly attacked an employee of the Federal Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN) who accompanied Zarema Musaeva on her daily trips to the hospital. Zarema Musaeva does not know what this could be about, since she did not commit any attack.
*The “Team against Torture” (TaT, formerly the “Committee against Torture” – CaT) was created by the lawyers who had earlier worked for the CaT, which was included into the register of the NCOs performing the functions of foreign agents.
