Analysts assess nature of inscription on Kadyrov monument
The inscription that the woman from the town of Sergiev Posad left on the monument to Akhmat Kadyrov erected in the Yuzhnoye Butovo District of Moscow is offensive, but rather refers to the current leadership of Chechnya.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on November 13, unknown persons painted an offensive inscription on the monument to Akhmat Kadyrov in Moscow. A criminal case has been opened against Natalia A., a woman of Sergiev Posad, for desecrating the monument.
The inscription on the above monument is most likely a personal insult, Vera Alperovich, an expert at the "Sova" Research Centre*, believes.
She has added that the actions at the monument are unlikely to be related to Akhmat Kadyrov. "They have to do with the person of his son. Akhmat Kadyrov died so long ago that the authors of the actions, I think, don't even remember him," she has added.
Evgeny Smirnov, a lawyer, has noted there were cases when vandalism was punished, in particular, under the article of "Extremism". If the woman's actions have been found to be motivated by hatred, for example, by political hatred, then she faces up to three years of freedom deprivation.
Mikhail Akhmetiev, a researcher, also does not rule out that an element of extremism may be found in this case.
*On August 17, 2023, the First Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction approved the decision taken earlier in April by the Moscow City Court to liquidate the SOVA Human Rights Centre.
