Investigating Committee responds to Kadyrov’s criticism of Bastrykin
The teenager, for whom Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov stood up, is accused of beating minors on the streets of Moscow, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports. Investigators released a video of several fights involving the teenager.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that when commenting on the Murdiev’s case, Ramzan Kadyrov claimed Vladimir Kolokoltsev and Alexander Bastrykin, the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), respectively, to be professionally incompetent.
Roman (also referred to as Muslim) Murdiev, the 14-year-old Chechen teenager, has been charged with gross violation of public order and use of violence, and he has been under house arrest in Moscow for more than six months, the “Ura.ru” portal reports. The reason for the institution of the criminal case was a fight in which the teenager, according to his version, stood up for a 12-year-old boy he knew. According to the advocate’s version, the teenager was defending the boy from another participant of the conflict, who was behaving aggressively and provocatively.
According to the investigators’ version, “five teenagers conspired to commit acts of hooliganism.” “They chose random passers-by, then one of the teenagers provoked a conflict with a passer-by, after which the teenager started a fight and beat the victim. The other defendants stayed nearby, giving advice on how to strike victims and, if necessary, helped the accomplices in the beating,” the ICRF reported.
Earlier, Chechen Ombudsman Mansur Soltaev intervened in the Murdiev’s case. “Since December 27, 2023, Murdiev has not been able to spend time outside the apartment, as he stays under house arrest. The teenager has lost the right to go outside the door of the apartment even for walks recommended by a cardiologist,” the Chechen Ombudsman wrote on his Telegram channel. The public defender has emphasized that Murdiev is not guilty and that “is beyond any doubt.”
