Activist Melikhova's complaint about eviction threat finds reaction among Adygea residents
About 20 people have gathered at the house of activist Marina Melikhova in Adygea to support her protest against the eviction of her family.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 7, Melikhova complained about the authorities' demand to evict her and her children from their house located in the settlement of Yablonovsky. According to her story, a man came to her, introducing himself as a court marshal (bailiff), and said that he gave her time until February 10 to move out, and then "he would change the door lock." However, Melikhova has not seen any court ruling on eviction.
The planned eviction failed, since the court marshal didn’t come, Melikhova said.
"Marina Melikhova is a fair and legally literate person. She helped many of us," said Natalia, a pensioner from Adygea and one of the activists who gathered at Marina’s house.
"There are no reasons to evict me and my family. My house was taken away from me for debts in the bankruptcy case of my company, which was also taken away and bankrupted ... I was a successful businesswoman, providing jobs for hundreds of people. But then in the Krasnodar Territory they decided that I was too successful, and began persecuting me. I went to the Supreme Court, but I failed to achieve justice anywhere. They included all my personal property into the bankruptcy case. They made me a beggar," she has stated.
Earlier, Melikhova was convicted of public calls for extremist activities and served more than two years, being released only in the summer of 2022.
"I have two higher educations, one of them in law, only this helped me survive," Marina Melikhova said in 2023.
