Makhachkala residents alarmed by law enforcers’ night special operation
Residents of the Makhachkala village of Semender reported that they were alarmed by the night shootout, in which law enforcers killed four suspected militants.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that last night, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was announced in the Makhachkala village of Semender. During the shootout, law enforcers killed four suspects. The National Antiterrorism Committee declared the killed suspects were militants of the banned terrorist organization “Islamic State”*.
According to the information released by the operational headquarters of Dagestan, law enforcers were checking information about possible preparation of a terrorist attack.
Abdul, a resident of the Makhachkala village of Semender, reported that he heard shots at night and learned from his acquaintances that “there was a shootout with the police” in the village.
Zaur, another resident of the Makhachkala village of Semender, said that he was called by his brother, who lives in the area affected and warned him not to leave the house, as he heard gunfire.
According to the investigators’ version, all four of those killed suspects were residents of Dagestan.
Let us remind you that the counter-terrorist operation (CTO) in Dagestan became the first since June 2024, when Orthodox churches and synagogues were attacked in Derbent and Makhachkala.
*On December 29, 2014, the Supreme Court (SC) of the Russian Federation recognized the organization "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL or IS) as a terrorist international organization and banned its activities in Russia.
