Search of lawyer Kuznetsova's home in Yessentuki declared illegal
The court has found illegal the search of the home Ekaterina Kuznetsova, a lawyer, who figures in the case against her colleague Georgy Legkobitov, who was accused of slandering a law enforcer. Despite the ruling, policemen have not returned the confiscated belongings to Ekaterina.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 4, in the city of Yessentuki, law enforcers conducted a search of the home of Georgy Legkobitov, a lawyer and human rights defender, who is engaged in the protection of specially protected natural territories and natural monuments. The home of Ekaterina Kuznetsova, who has the status of a witness in Georgy’s case, was also searched. The both were interrogated within the criminal defamation case against law enforcement bodies. Legkobitov has treated the charges against him as an intimidation attempt.
According to Ekaterina Kuznetsova, law enforcers made a mistake with her address and came to a wrong house, but that didn't stop them.
Legkobitov has added that the anger of the policeman, who had accused him of slander, could have been caused by Georgy’s statement about the falsification of case materials against his son Sergey.
Ekaterina Kuznetsova has reported in her Telegram channel that policemen have not retuned her seized belongings.
