Krasnodar blogger arrested after being forced to apologize

In Krasnodar, a court sentenced blogger Vladimir Vanyan to administrative arrest, finding him guilty of failure to obey the police.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that the Krasnodar police reported an investigation into “the fact of insulting human dignity and discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation,” committed, according to the Krasnodar police’s version, by a 35-year-old local resident. The man faces administrative punishment.

Powerlifter Vladimir Vanyan, detained after using foul language when speaking about FSB officers in a video stream on his YouTube channel, has apologized to the law enforcers. The athlete has stated that he “will serve with weapons in his hands in the SMO (special military operation).”

“Vanyan is a video blogger. On March 24, during a live broadcast, he voiced offensive, obscene statements about the SMO members and FSB officers. When the police came to Vanyan, he refused to show his identity document, started screaming, and tried to escape, ignoring the police inspectors’ demands,” the United Press Service for the Courts of the Krasnodar Territory reported on its official Telegram channel.
