Analysts argue about motives for removing Kadyrov’s spouse and daughters from register of legal entities
The information in the register of legal entities is public by law, and the removal of the names of Ramzan Kadyrov’s relatives from the register may be explained by the desire to protect companies from sanctions and complicate the investigation into their activities.
The information about the companies affiliated with Aishat and Tabarik, the daughters of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, as well as his spouse Medni, has been removed from the Russian Unified State Register of Legal Entities.
Medni Kadyrova was listed as the main owner (99% of shares) of the “Trade City” Company. In March of this year, Medni Kadyrova has become the sole owner of the “Aimed Clinic” Company, which previously belonged to her mother Zalpa Aidamirova. In March, Aishat, a Ramzan Kadyrov’s daughter, became the sole owner of the “Chechen Mineral Waters” Company.
According to a version, voiced by advocate Timofei Shirokov, there are no obvious reasons to hide information about the Ramzan Kadyrov’s relatives, since this is “open information by definition.”
The advocate believes that a possible motive for such a step could be the desire to protect some companies from being included in the sanctions lists.
According to the information from Sergei Boyko, a political analyst at the Adam Smith Research Centre, Ramzan Kadyrov has been given instructions concerning contacts with Middle Eastern monarchies within the framework of allied obligations with Iran and within the framework of deals between the United States and Russia, where the Middle Eastern states also act as intermediaries. The political analyst has noted that the tendency to conceal information about top-ranking officials and their relatives is becoming increasingly widespread. “Ramzan Kadyrov has simply taken advantage of new opportunities,” the political analyst notes.
