Rostov journalist reports attack
Igor Khoroshilov, a journalist, was attacked in Rostov-on-Don. According to his story, the attacker was wearing a mask, sprayed him with a can and hit him several times.
In April 2024, Igor Khoroshilov complained that unknown persons had broken a window in his apartment. He believes that this is how he is being pressured to refuse to cover the case of a young man’s beating up at the SIZO (pre-trial prison).
The new incident occurred on April 13 near Khoroshilov's house, the “Rostov-Gazeta” writes. The journalist left the house to go to the store. A man approached him, took out a can of spray and sprayed him in the face. After the journalist fell down, the man kicked him several times and sprayed him twice more from the can. After that, the attacker got into the car and drove away.
The journalist is sure that the attack was committed deliberately, but does not yet know what it was connected with. "I write regularly, but so far there have been no scandals," he has noted.
Igor Khoroshilov was earlier arrested for 10 days for a publication in a social network. Officials believe he is involved in critical posts placed in Telegram channels, Evgeny Berkovich, Igor’s advocate, has suggested.
