Georgian "Mtavari Arkhi" TV Company stops broadcasting
The oppositional Georgian "Mtavari Arkhi" TV company has completely stopped broadcasting after over 5.5 years of operation.
The TV Company staff has posted a message about the complete suspension of broadcasting, saying goodbye to its viewers. The employees of the "Mtavari Arkhi" have recalled that the channel had been operating for five years and eight months.
They have added that after May 1, only the digital division, which supports social networks and the website, continues operating. "We have no funds left to save the TV broadcasting (...) One of our founders has driven the ‘Main Channel’ to closure due to his personal goals or revenge and did a great service to the Russian regime," the message says.
In its page in the social network page and website, the "Mtavari Arkhi" continues posting news items, including photos of participants in daily protests in Georgia.
