Erdogan refutes information about recall of Turkish ambassador from the USA because of genocide of Armenians

Prime Minister of Turkey Redzhep Tayip Erdogan has refuted the news about the recall of the country's ambassador from Washington because of the issue of the genocide of Armenians.

The "Echo Moskvy" Radio reports that Mr Erdogan asserts that the recall of the ambassador was not meant.

Yesterday, on October 11, the information appeared with reference to the official spokesman of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the ambassador would be recalled to Ankara for consultations. These messages followed the passage by the Foreign Relations Committee of the House of the US Congress of the resolution concerning the genocide of Armenians.

The adoption by the Foreign Relations Committee of the House of the US Congress of the resolution on the genocide of Armenians has caused huge indignation in Azerbaijan.

According to Isa Gambar, leader of the "Musavat" Party, the decision will cause a negative effect on the image of the States not only in Turkey but in the Islamic world as a whole. Therefore, he called President Bush to eliminate, together with the Congress, the mistake made and not to deepen the abyss with Muslim countries.
