Trial on murder of television and radio company head has been resumed in Armenia

A hearing of the case on the murder of Armenian Public Television and Radio Company Chairman Tigran Naglalian was continued under the chairmanship of Judge Saro Aramian in the court of first instance of the Kentron and Nork-Marash Communes of Erevan on Wednesday.

A sentence was pronounced from which it followed that the journalist's murder was ordered and organized by accused Armen Sarkisian, a brother of two former Armenian prime-ministers Vazgen and Aram Sarkisians, who had paid crime performers USD 75 000.

John Arutyunian is being accused of the murder of Nagdalian as a direct performer. The other 11 accused in the case were charged of crime concealment, crime confederation, illegal storage of arms, and concealment of people being searched for by the police.

The next sitting of the court on the case will be held on August 19.

36-year old Tigran Nagdalian was murdered by a short at his head near the entrance of his parents' house late at night on December 28, 2002.
