Suspects of funding Chechen separatists detained in Bulgaria

Bulgaria has stopped a criminal group suspected of financing militants in Chechnya.

A statement of special agencies runs that the members of the group were involved in extortion, blackmail, weapon trafficking and money laundering. Besides, the group is suspected of financing "terrorist formations in Chechnya."

According to the Reuters, the Bulgarian special agencies do not disclose the number of detainees, but inform that the group comprised mainly Chechens and was active in the territory of Bulgaria from the end of 1990s.
