Zyazikov, Murat Magometovich
President of the Republic of Ingushetia.
Murat Magometovich Zyazikov was born in the city of Osh, Kyrgyz SSR (Soviet Socialist Republic) in 1957.
In 1980, graduated from History Department of Checheno-Ingush State University.
In 1978, while being a student, was the delegate to the 11th World Youth and Student Festival in Cuba. Author of the book Unforgettable Encounters.
From 1980 to 1981, worked as an instructor of Nazran regional committee of the Party. Served in the military.
In 1984, graduated from Higher USSR KGB Courses in Minsk.
In 1984-1992, worked in different positions in the state security organs of Checheno-Ingushetia.
After the formation of the Republic of Ingushetia, was a deputy Security Minister of the Ingush republic. Simultaneously headed the Security Council of the Republic of Ingushetia.
From 1996 to 2002, was a deputy head of the RF Federal Security Service branch in Astrakhan Region. Simultaneously, in 1996-1998, worked within the Commission of the Federation Council of Russia's Federal Assembly.
In January 2002, Zyazikov was appointed deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President in the South Federal District.
On January 29, 2002, by Russian President's decree, Murat Zyazikov was promoted to major general.
On April 28, 2002, was elected the President of the Republic of Ingushetia by the people of Ingushetia.
