Two burials with remains of kidnapped persons found in Chechnya

During several recent days, in the Gudermes and Vedeno Districts of Chechnya, several burials have been detected. The authorities of Chechnya assert that all the casualties fell victims of extrajudicial executions of the militaries of the "Vostok" (East) battalion commanded by Sulim Yamadaev.

A burial with remains of six persons was found in the suburb of Gudermes. The personalities of the victims and date of death are unknown. Also in the Gudermes District, a burial with remains of Ahmed Jamalov, a resident of the Kurchaloy District, was found. An expert of the Moscow Helsinki Group for Northern Caucasus said that Jamalov was kidnapped several years ago.

Then, a source in the law enforcement bodies of Chechnya has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about detection in a large forest near the village of Isti-Su, Gudermes District, of a burial place of skeletized remains of two men dressed in camouflage. Both of them were shop dead in the head.

Under the so far available information, the casualties were kidnapped in 2004. Presumably, one of them, a resident of the Vedeno District, was kidnapped in summer of 2004 in the Grozny District. The personality of the second one is still unknown.
