Movie Festival "Kinotaurus" starts in Sochi
Tonight, Sochi will host the opening ceremony of the 21st "Kinotaurus" Open Russian Movie Festival. In total, the jury will choose among 14 films, 9 of them made by debutants. This year, a new nomination will be introduced - the prize for cameraman's mastery.
It is expected that the ceremony will include awarding of the special prize of the movie festival "For Outstanding Artistic Contribution into Development of Russian Cinema Art", which will be given to Director Alexei German, who is well-known by his movies "Khrustalyov, a Car!", "Twenty Days without War" and "Checks on Roads", the TV Channel 1 has informed.
According to the website "Solovei.info", the official opening ceremony will be finalized by the contest movie "Live and Remember" by Alexander Proshkin. The main contest programme includes also: "Wild Field" by Mikhail Kalatozishvili, "Nirvana" by Igor Voloshin, "New Land" by Alexander Melnik, "Four Ages of Love" by Sergey Mokritskiy, "St. George's Day" by Kirill Serebrennikov and other movies.
