Hackers attack Georgian and Ossetian websites

A great number of websites run by Georgian and Ossetian information agencies have suffered from hackers' attacks within the latest 24 hours. In the evening on August 8, the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia was also cracked.

Near the midnight, the main page of the website started to display, instead of MFA's information, a black-and-white photo collage consisting of images of Mikhail Saakashvili and Hitler. Saakashvili's and Hitler's photos were selected and placed together in such a way that the poses, mimics and gestures of Saakashvili closely resembled those of Hitler.

Now, there is no more photo collage in the page, but the website remains inaccessible. According to the "News-Georgia", the website is now being restored and will soon resume its operation.

In its turn, the Agency reports that the website of the "News-Georgia" was also exposed to incessant hackers' attacks, as well as many other websites of Georgian news agencies. The Agency warns about possible failures in its operation.

Hackers are also attacking Ossetian information Internet resources. Thus, the website of the State Committee for Information and Press of South Ossetia reports about a DDOS attack against Ossetian websites. Indeed, the Committee's website happens to be inaccessible or non-updated for long.
