In Ingushetia, Evloevs' advocates insist on bringing Zyazikov to court

On November 18, the Supreme Court of Ingushetia will consider the advocates' petition asking to re-qualify Magomed Evloev's murder case into "intentional homicide". The advocates hope to get support of the new President of the Republic Yunus-Bek Evkurov in bringing Murat Zyazikov as a witness or accused in the case on this crime.

Musa Pliev, one of the advocates of the Evloev family, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that in the near future the defence would lodge various petitions, and, in particular, will insist that Murat Zyazikov should be interrogated "at least as a witness."

"Now, when Zyazikov is no longer President, it would be logical to make him answerable," said Mr Pliev and added that he had known Magomed long ago and knew that Murat Zyazikov had threatened him more than once, both directly and via mediators. "Murat Zyazikov was not just Evloev's opponent, he had a motive to kill him," the lawyer believes.

"Let him not assassinate Magomed directly, but his guilt is great and he is certainly subject to criminal liability," Musa Pliev has concluded.
