Inmates of Nalchik IVS, Ingushetia, complain of administration's oppressions
Zurab Estoev, a resident of Ingushetia and now one of the inmates of the temporary isolation facility (the so-called "IVS") in the city of Nalchik, complains of oppressions from the IVS administration. Estoev's relatives told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about it.
Earlier, it was reported about 12 inmates of this IVS, Ingushes and two Chechens, who had held a hunger strike with a demand to timely finalize their proceedings, which had lasted for more than two years by then.
Relatives of the inmates report that the IVS administration oppresses these detainees in every possible way: permanent insults, placement into dungeon for no reason and rendering no medical help, despite the fact that the majority of these inmates require hospitalization.
"Dungeon is appointed for no visible reasons, for an incorrect move or too loud praying. The administration fails to observe the procedures: they never warn in advance about appointment of the dungeon - just catch and put there," one of Estoev's relatives said.
Zurab Estoev has sick kidneys, as his relatives assert, beaten off during the torture, applied to him by law enforcers of North Ossetia during the investigation. "He needs urgent treatment, but he is put into dungeon instead; the administration would not let doctors to him, and they call ambulance only in extreme cases, when inmates lose consciousness from pain. We've written a letter to President Yunus-Bek Evkurov, and we hope that he'll support us. But so far our children are oppressed," the relative said.
In winter of 2008, when at the IVS of Nazran, Zurab Estoev opened his veins in an attempt to stop beatings by Ingush militiamen, who jumped into the cell and beat all the inmates in turn.
We remind you that the inmates are accused of various grave and especially grave crimes - "Banditism", "Participation in criminal community", "Murder", "Accomplishment of terror acts", etc.
These cases were investigated by the Russian State Office of Public Prosecutor, and the inquiry was over back in June 2008. However, so far, the court has not yet started the consideration. According to advocate Magomed Gandarov, the court is appointing the date of hearing, but public prosecutors and officials from the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation for the South Federal District (SFD) fail to appear in the courtroom.
