North Ossetia: Kokoity to visit refugees from South Ossetia

On March 5, President of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity will come to North Ossetia to meet the refugees from South Ossetia who live there as victims of the warfare in August 2008, and of those who suffered in the events of 1992.

The meeting is organized by the North-Ossetian NGO named "Styr Nykhas". Refugees from South Ossetia continuously telephone the organization and ask questions.

"Refugees want to know why the formation of the government of South Ossetia is so slow, why they cannot come back home for so long and when it will occur. People live in awful conditions: in hostels, sheds and premises absolutely unfit for residence. But they are evicted even out of these places. Therefore, we've decided to organize this meeting, for people to directly ask Eduard Kokoity when all this will be over," Grigoriy Badtiev, Deputy Chair of "Styr Nykhas", said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

In the first week of the war in South Ossetia, in August 2008, in the south of Russia over 17,000 refugees from South Ossetia were officially registered. The majority of them - 15,256 persons - were accepted by North Ossetia.
