General Kizyun recognized Ruslan Yamadaev's killer by his eyes
Former commandant of Chechnya Sergey Kizyun, who was attacked in a car in central Moscow together with ex-deputy of State Duma Ruslan Yamadaev, has recognized the latter's killer by his eyes. Mr Kizyun has stated that they had been attacked by Aslanbek Dadaev, a native of Chechnya. Dadaev's advocates would not agree with Sergey Kizyun.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 17 the Chief Investigatory Department of the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of the Russian Federation presented charge of complicity in murdering Ruslan Yamadaev and attempt on Sergey Kizyun to Elim-Pasha Khatsuev, 39.
Yamadaev, whose murder, under the version of the investigation, was "ordered" to the killer, died in situ, and General Kizyun was heavily wounded.
Six months later, the investigation found a witness who asserted that he was an eyewitness of the execution and remembered the model and state number of the attacker's car. In late March of 2009, inspectors started shadowing Khatsuev and tapping his mobile phone. By April 7, the proofs of his involvement in murdering Ruslan Yamadaev, from the viewpoint of the investigation, were gathered, and he was detained. At Khatsuev's search, a Makarov pistol was found.
Isa Yamadaev, Ruslan's brother, referenced Khatsuev as "a well-known Wahhabite in Chechnya and a rank and file machine gunner in Khattab grouping." Advocate Alexander Lomzhin refused to comment this news, saying that the materials of the case, which he had got familiarized with, had no such data.
Khatsuev himself categorically rejects his involvement in Ruslan Yamadaev's murder.
"The assertion of the investigation that the car of Khatsuev's civil wife was used for the attack doesn't still mean that the BMW car used to bring the killer to the place of the attack was driven by my client," Alexander Lomzhin, Khatsuev's advocate, has explained. According to his story, Khatsuev has alibi for September 24, 2008, which will be presented by defenders to the investigation.
The "Kommersant" writes that after examining Khatsuev's personal and telephone contacts inspectors got interested in his friends Aslanbek Dadaev and Timur Isaev.
Dadaev's and Isaev's telephone conversations were enough for their detention: same as Khatsuev, they were arrested late at night on April 7. Inspectors presented Dadaev and Isaev to General Kizyun for identification. He has stated that through the slightly opened window of Mercedes he was shot by Aslanbek Dadaev. However, the defenders of the Chechen immediately moved a protest against this investigatory action.
"It has been reliably established that the criminal who attempted on Yamadaev and Kizyun was in a black cloth mask with openings for eyes," one of the advocates has noted. "It's also obvious that the gunman could not bend close to General Kizyun who was in the passenger seat, otherwise the fired cartridges would have got in his face. Thus, the victim could only see the person in mask through glass and at a distance of stretched out hand.
The advocates assert that in such situation identifying the killer "by his eyes" as Mr Kizyun asserts is impossible. So far, the investigation has not presented charges of murdering Ruslan Yamadaev to Dadaev and Isaev: the point is that these two "could be involved" in the execution committed in the Smolensk Embankment of Moscow, as the "Gazeta.Ru" gives it.
