Dagestan: militant killed, three peaceful residents and militiaman wounded

At 7:30 p.m. a skirmish burst out at the bus station of the city of Kaspijsk (Dagestan) that has resulted in one casualty and four persons with injuries of various gravity: three occasional passers-by and a militiaman. Twenty minutes later, the adjacent area was cordoned by numerous militiamen.

"Most probably, the militia was conducting a special operation. Those armed bandits have been traced from Makhachkala on, and they decided to detain them at Kaspijsk bus station, but the militants opened armed resistance and were killed by response fire. There are three slightly wounded civil persons who were taken to the Kaspijsk city hospital, and a militiaman was also wounded and taken away to Makhachkala. I called up the hospital, the victims are provided with due assistance in full," Dzhamaludin Omarov, Mayor of Kaspijsk, said.

We note here the growth of the number of civil citizens who suffer during this sort of operations. In particular, on May 20 in Khasavyurt two occasional passers-by were wounded by militiamen's fire and subsequently died.
