Kabardino-Balkaria: Rasul Kudaev's mother fears that they try to kill her son before the trial

Fatimat Tekaeva, Rasul Kudaev's mother, believes that placing her son into the sweat box was undertaken with the aim not to let him survive till the trial. She wrote an open letter to Vladimir Putin and Ombudspersons of the Russian Federation and Kabardino-Balkaria.

Ms Tekaeva herself informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about it.

In particular, her open letters runs: "For the two years spent at the investigatory isolation facility (SIZO) my son Rasul Kudaev was repeatedly exposed to severe beatings and placement into the sweat box. On these facts, my son's advocate repeatedly addressed the Prosecutor's Office and the courts, however, no measures had ever been taken thereon.

On October 1, he was again put into the sweat box, however, nobody would explain me what his guilt was and why he was so severely punished before his trial and before his verdict. The head of the SIZO evades meeting me and giving explanations.

I have a strong belief that someone tries to do everything possible that my son Kudaev Rasul die before the end of the trial, since the court can quite well acquit him, since he is not guilty and did not take part in the events of October 13.

Throughout these two years that he has been kept at the SIZO, he never got any medical aid, and they refuse to take the medicines from me that are necessary to support his life.

I am begging you to stop illegal actions in relation to my son Kudaev Rasul.

Let the court decide on his fate."
