Militants planned terror act at rally in Ingushetia

According to today's information of Svetlana Gorbakova, senior assistant to the head of the investigatory department for Ingushetia of the Investigatory Committee under the Russian General Prosecutor's Office, the explosive that blew up in a car on January 22 in Nazran (Ingushetia) was intended for the rally to be held on January 26.

The yield of the explosive was about 20 kilos in trotyl equivalent. Special agents believe that the perished car driver was a resident of Dagestan and was driving the car to Ingushetia for committing a terror act there.

On the same day, a car was shelled near the building of the Department of the Federal Migration Service in Nazran. The shelled minibus was carrying employees of the Federal Agency of Governmental Communication and Information (FAPSI).

Four out of eight minibus passengers were seriously wounded. One of them died on the way to the hospital.

On January 21 in Nazran, a group of unknown persons opened automatic fire at the acting head of the insulation facility of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia Captain Magomed Torshkhoev. The officer was heavily wounded and hospitalized.

Another shelling happened on January 20 in the centre of Nazran. Unknown persons used grenade launchers to bombard the building in Moskovskaya Street, which houses the Nazran District Militia Unit and the City Interior Department. Nobody suffered.

On January 19 in the Nazran District of Ingushetia unknown persons shelled from grenade launchers the house where the Mayor of the city of Karabulak lives. Luckily, nobody was injured.
