Spontaneous rally in Ingushetia was caused by detention of an Ekazhevo villager

The reason for a spontaneous rally held last night in Nazran was the detention on February 13 by employees of power agencies in the centre of Nazran of Magomed Evloev, a resident of Ekazhevo village, Nazran District of Ingushetia.

An employee of one of local human rights organizations told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent:

"According to the eyewitnesses, the power agents were in several GAZEL cars without license plates. Faces were hidden under masks. Without presenting themselves and explaining nothing, they forced the man into one of accompanying cars and took away to some unknown place. According to some sources, the detainee was taken to the FSB Branch for Ingushetia located in the city of Magas. At least, this was told to the relatives at the Republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs."

The human rights activist has also told that Evloev's relatives who were revolted by the incident rallied at night at the entrance to Magas.

The reasons of detention are still unknown, however, according to the human rights activist, the detainee has no relation to the "Ingushetia.Ru" website and its former owner Magomed Yakhyaevich Evloev.

The "Caucasian Knot" has already informed that today at night a spontaneous rally took place in Nazran, where the participants protested against corruption and violation of human rights by power agencies. The number of protesters reached 300 persons and more.
