In Ingushetia, rally of the opposition appointed on March 12 postponed till April

In Ingushetia, the organizers of the oppositional rally that was initially appointed on March 12 have postponed their action till April.

Magomed Khazbiev, head of the organizing committee of the action that was called by the oppositionists to be a nationwide rally, has explained that at the meeting on March 10 the decision to postpone the rally was made because of the statements of Gelani Merzhuev, a representative of the Prosecutor's Office, that the Government of Ingushetia had failed to receive the notification about the rally, the "Ingushetia.Ru" reports.

"Gelani Merzhuev is nicely aware that we tried to submit the notification, that we visited the building of the Government of the Republic of Ingushetia (RI) for several times, contacted the secretariat against witnesses, but they refused to accept our notification," Magomed Khazbiev asserts.

The Prosecutor's Office took explanations from the securities of the RI's Government and secretariat workers who testified that "nobody came to them and nobody brought the notification."

However, the explanations of the oppositionists and evidences of the witnesses, with whom the organizers of the rally came to the Government, as well as the video record of the attempt to hand over the notification, would not be perceived by the Prosecutor's Office, Mr Khazbiev asserts.

"Moreover, the Prosecutor's Office has completely disregarded the fact that on that very day, on February 27, a notification about the rally was sent to the Government by registered mail. We have postal receipts, however, the Prosecutor's Office has chosen to restrict themselves with the responses from the RI's Government and secretariat that they had received no notification," Magomed Khazbiev said.
