In Chechnya, unknown criminals tried to blow up OMON fighters
A powerful explosive detonated in a highways in southeast of Chechnya, when trucks with Perm Territory OMON (Special Militia) fighters sent to Chechnya to take their service were moving along. There no casualties and victims, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Chechnya reports.
"Yesterday, on June 10, at about 4 p.m., a strong explosion took place in the Shali District of the Republic, on the motorway running from the city of Shali to Agishty village, when two trucks - URAL and UAZ - with seven OMON employees from the GUVD (Chief Interior Administration) of the Perm Territory were moving along the motorway. A self-made explosive was planted in the road shoulder. There are no casualties and victims from the incident," a Chechen MIA officer said.
A criminal case has been opened on the fact of the incident, and the investigation is now underway. Within the latest 48 hours, it is already the second attack on OMON employees committed in Chechnya. In the evening on June 9, a cafe named 'Dallas" was blown up in Grozny, where Chechen OMON fighters had their supper. Nine militiamen received various gravity wounds.
