Many thousands of oppositionists on rally in the capital of Armenia

In Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, about five thousand supporters of the opposition are holding a non-sanctioned rally. Leader of the opposition Levon Ter-Petrosyan and his supporters are among the participants.

The action caused the police to block access to all central streets of the city. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that in the morning entrance of passenger transport vehicles from the regions was restricted. People had to get to the rally on foot.

After talks with the police, the opposition managed to set up a passage corridor to the square in front of the Matenadaran Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.

As of 6:15 p.m. Moscow time, the rally goes on peacefully, but with hot slogans and words addressed to the Armenian government.

Before the rally, the police were asking people to disperse, saying that the rally was illegitimate, the "News-Armenia" reports.
