In Dagestan, editor-in-chief of "Nastoyascheye Vremya" bans publications about searches in "Chernovik"

Hanzhan Kurbanov, editor-in-chief of the Dagestan-based "Nastoyascheye Vremya" (Present Time) newspaper, has forbidden publishing any materials about the searches conducted in the "Chernovik" (Blueprint) newspaper and about summon to interrogation of Nadira Isaeva, editor-in-chief of this newspaper, against whom a criminal case was initiated.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a source in the "Nastoyascheye Vremya" that the topic of opening a criminal case against the editor-in-chief of the "Chernovik" Nadira Isaeva had been initially present in the plan of the next issue of the "Nastoyascheye Vremya".

However, in the last minute, the editor-in-chief made a decision not to publish the already prepared text. Allegedly, the pretext was the reached agreement between the two editorial boards.

"We have an agreement with them ("Chernovik", - note of the "Caucasian Knot") that they publish nothing about us, and we don't publish anything about them. Therefore, we'll publish nothing," editor-in-chief of "Nastoyascheye Vremya" Hanzhan Kurbanov told correspondent Yulia Taberio, who had prepared the material.

However, Nadira Isaeva, editor-in-chief of the "Chernovik", has denied the existence of any such "agreements".
