"Beslan Mothers" challenge the chief inspector in Beslan case

The "Beslan Mothers" Association of Terror Act Victims has challenged inspector Solzhenitsyn, who heads the investigation of the case on the terror act in Beslan, and sent a petition to Mr Bastrykin, the head of the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office of Russian Federation. The victims told journalists about it in the press conference held on September 1.

"The inspectors have no wish to investigate and say the truth about the terror act. Inspector Solzhenitsyn, head of the Investigatory Group for the fact of taking and murdering hostages at School No. 1 of the city of Beslan, has repeatedly told us that nothing depended on him in investigation of this case, since the FSB refused to present documents on the act of terror in Beslan. Actions of inspector Solzhenitsyn are aimed to protract the investigation. Solzhenitsyn breaks our rights, and the rights of all the victims to have an objective investigation of the Beslan terror act," said Susanna Dudieva, leader of "Beslan Mothers".

The victims of the terror act have also prepared appeals to S. Mironov, Chairman of Council of Federation, leader of North Ossetia T. Mamsurov and Chair of the Parliament of North Ossetia L. Khabitsova.

The document that the victims have drafted is sharply criticizing the activities of the ex-president of North Ossetia A. Dzasokhov and asserts that he "when being President of the Republic, chairman of the antiterrorist commission and head of the operative staff for rescuing Beslan hostages, failed to exhibit due responsibility in preventing the terror act, which became monstrous by its cruelty, and revealed criminal carelessness after capture of hostages, which was proved at the trial of terrorist Nurpashi Kulaev."
