Imereti Valley residents stop construction of fencing around Sochi Cargo Port
All over again, already for the fourth time, on September 12, local residents defended the Imereti Valley from another attempt of the FSUE (Federal State Unitary Enterprise) "Rosmorport" to start construction in this area of the "Second Sochi Cargo Port". There were about 40 of them. In their turn, the builders relied on support of militiamen, FSB agents and certain persons in civilian clothes, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
Alexei Zubanov, Chairman of the Association of Investors and Entrepreneurs of the Imereti Lowland, explained that local residents had been waited for this "attack" by "Rosmorport" from the previous night. It was on that night that local residents detected and asked to leave the construction site a crane and a tractor, which "lost their way". However, in the morning, at 8 a.m., the residents saw the same picture: slabs, a tractor and cranes.
When asked about documents authorizing the works, engineer-land surveyor Igor Doroshenko said that they were at the office. Then, the residents addressed the contractors, who called militia, which accused the residents of an illegal assembly.
All the attempts to get the authorizing documents on building the "Second Sochi Cargo Port" from the contractors were fruitless, and after 6 hours of confrontation the machinery (a crane, a power shovel, a KamAZ truck with slabs), contractors and militia left the site.
It is interesting, as Mr Zubanov said in conclusion, that the journalists, who went for comments to the press service of the "Rosmorport", were told there: currently, the "Rosmorport" performs no civil work at this construction site.
