EU: no recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia to take place
Yesterday, on November 5, Javier Solana, EU Supreme Representative for General Foreign Policy and Safety, declared that the countries of European Union find unacceptable "Russia's policy from the position of strength towards Georgia" and would not recognize the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
Answering the questions of European MPs in Brussels, Mr Solana said, in his comments on the EU's position on the issue: "No recognition of South Ossetia's and Abkhazia's will happen, it's clear," the RIA "Novosti" reports.
The "Pravda.ru" notes that at the same time Javier Solana spoke in support of the offer to admit EU observers to South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
