Investigation: lynch law is the main version of women's murder in Chechnya

The six young women, whose bodies were found in the morning on November 26 in Grozny and Grozny District of Chechnya could be killed as punishment for their immoral behaviour, the investigation assumes.

All of them have been identified. "Yesterday, the sixth young woman out of those assassinated on November 26 was identified. She is a native of the Achkhoy-Martan District aged 26. She was divorced and jobless. Thus, five casualties were local residents, and the sixth one had arrived to Chechnya from the Dagestan city of Kyzyl-Yurt. Two of them, residents of the Kurchaloy District, were wives of two brothers (it was reported earlier that they were sisters)," a source in the Republic's law enforcement bodies said.

According to his story, it was also established that "at least three of the murdered girls had been violently taken away from their leased flats by armed persons in camouflage and masks." "We can't exclude that all the six murders could be accomplished by one and the same criminal group. This version is confirmed by the way it was done, the time and firearms used by the criminals. Meanwhile, the inspectors tend to believe that all these young women fell victim to the lynch law and were punished most likely for their immoral behaviour," the source has added.

As he said, now broad-scale actions are underway towards establishment and detention of the persons involved in these crimes.
