Kaziahmedov assassinated in Makhachkala once headed investigation of Kaspiisk terror act
Seifudin Kaziahmedov who was killed today in Makhachkala was once the head of the investigatory group in charge of the criminal case about the terror act committed in Kaspiisk on May 9, 2002. In the end of 2008, he was appointed deputy head of the Investigatory Department for Dagestan of the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of Russia.
We remind you that Seifudin Kaziahmedov, head of the division for especially important cases of the Investigatory Department for the Republic of Dagestan of Russian ICPO, went out of his house at 12 Irchi Kazka Street in Makhachkala together with his wife at about 7 o'clock in the morning, when a stranger came up to him from behind and made several shots in fact point-blank. Kaziahmedov died in situ.
Inspectors think that his professional work was the main reason of the murder, since Kaziahmedov was investigating criminal cases on the most serious crimes accomplished in the territory of Dagestan.
Seifudin Kaziahmedov was the first head of the Investigatory Department for Dagestan of the ICPO. He became known for disclosing a number of resonant crimes, including those related to the illegal armed formations active in the republic. He repeatedly stated, including in local media, that he was threatened by extremists.
