In Georgia, opposition plans to rebuild and expand "city of cells"

Leaders of the Georgian opposition, which keeps holding actions in Tbilisi demanding resignation of President Mikhail Saakashvili, have announced their plans to "reconstruct" the "city of cells".

In the end of April, oppositionists erected dozens of iron cages in Tbilisi, in front of the parliament and in the Freedom Square - embodiments of prison cells, stating that "cities of cells" symbolize the "transformation of Georgia into a police state."

Now, the opposition is going to "improve" the cages and make them more "attractive" by repairing the damaged ones; then, "summer ghetto-camps" will appear in the city.

Besides, as reported by "Georgia Today", they plan to expand their protest actions all over the country, therefore, such cages-cells will soon appear in other cities and settlements; in order to cut down expenses, the opposition plans to move some of the cages from Tbilisi to the regions.

Also, a spokesman of the opposition said that they plan holding permanent picketing of Tbilisi Mayoralty, as reported by "News-Georgia".
