Moscow City Court releases militiamen who stopped fight with participation of Chechen natives
Today, the Moscow City Court has cancelled the decision to arrest militiamen from the OVD (Interior Department) "Mitino", accused by four natives of Chechnya of beating them in a Moscow cafe. The Court has sent the arrest petition submitted by the investigation to the Tushino District Court for re-consideration.
Let us remind you that on January 24 this year, four employees of the OVD "Mitino" detained participants of a fight near a restaurant in Baryshikha Street. Among the detainees was Mansur Aslakhanov, a nephew of Aslambek Aslakhanov, Senator of Council of Federation from the Omsk Region. Mansur is an operative worker of the criminal investigation division of the UVD of the Northwest District of Moscow.
The detainees addressed the MIA's service of own security; and in May a criminal case was opened against the militiamen of OVD "Mitino" under Articles 286 ("Excess of official powers") and 318 ("Use of violence against a power official") of the Russian Criminal Code. The criminal case is investigated by the Tushino inquiry department.
According to Valery Glushenkov, militiamen's advocate, the freedom restriction measure for the militiamen remains unchanged, as reported by the "Infox.Ru" Agency. He has noted that "having considered our cassation complaint, the judge announced only the resolutive part of his decision."
According to the advocate, the complaint will be re-considered tomorrow, on June 4, as reported by the "Interfax".
Let us note here that after arrest of militiamen, according to their advocates, some of their colleagues are afraid to go and interfere into this sort of scuffles.
