In Novorossisk, "curfew case" consideration postponed till June 18
On June 15, the Oktiabrskiy District Court of Novorossisk held a session on the case related to planned introduction of "curfew" for children and teenagers. Representatives of broad public were not admitted. Under petition of the prosecution, the session was postponed till June 18.
Earlier, Denis Kabanov, Deputy Public Prosecutor of Novorossisk, found attributes of extremism in criticism of key provisions of the "curfew" law by Tamara Karastelyova, executive director of the Autonomous Independent Organization "Novorossisk Committee on Human Rights".
At the beginning of the court session, court marshals checked passports and refused to let in, without permission of the judge, advocates Stanislav Gorlov and Sergey Dikman - Tamara Karastelyova's confidants, and citizens who wanted to be present at the open court session.
The judge gave permission only in two hours, when he got convinced that Karastelyova refused to take part in the session without her confidants. Then, obstacles appeared for those who wanted to bring a notebook computer, a tape recorder and photo cameras into the courtroom. The marshals went for a permit to the on duty judge who was absent.
Ms Karastelyova was awarded with a presentation, a caution and a warning, running "about inadmissibility of extremist activities; and should within twelve months after the date of the warning new facts be revealed evidencing the presence in her activities of attributes of extremism, her organization can be liquidated upon decision of the court."
As reported by the "Сivitas.ru", the next session on this case was appointed on June 18.
Earlier, the Prosecutor's Office made its own conclusion about extremism in Karastelyova's actions, based on check of applications lodged by Kolodyazhnaya, A. A., and Karpenko, M. V., parents of two teenagers, who on April 18, 2009, came by themselves to the organizers of the rally - Vadim Karastelyov and Tamara Karastelyova - and asked a question about the idea of the public action.
The organizers explained that they were publicly expressing their opinion on inadmissibility of violating the Constitution of the Russian Federation, namely, parts 2-6 of Article 3, and Article 15 of the Law of the Krasnodar Territory of 21.07.2008 No. 1539-KZ "On Measures to Prevent Neglect and Offences of Minors in Krasnodar Territory".
"One-person picket held in Krasnodar demanding cancellation of curfew," "Novorossisk hosts a picket for cancellation of curfew for teenagers."
