President of Ingushetia is discharged from hospital and promises to toughen his struggle against militants
Today, President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov was discharged from the Vishnevskiy Surgery Institute, where he took his treatment after the attempt on June 22. In a week, he plans to get back to work.
He has also promised to continue, jointly with Chechen power agents, broad scale special operations against the armed underground, launched after the terror act, committed by a suicide bomber on May 15 at the building of the MIA in Grozny.
According to his version, for a long time operation were conducted separately by law enforcement bodies of Chechnya or Ingushetia; and militants were squeezed from one republic into the other. "Militants had long agreed to act jointly; however, we went on acting separately," said the Ingush leader. The ITAR-TASS quotes his belief that the war on militants by joint efforts of the Ingush and Chechen MIAs "bears good fruit."
Besides, President Evkurov said that after his return to work he plans to activate his fight on corruption and make it "still tougher." Earlier it was reported that his war on corruption was considered by power agents as one of the main reasons of the terror act.
President of Ingushetia labelled the media, which "write good" about militants, as their accomplices.
Speaking about the attempt on him, Mr Evkurov said that he has no claims to his security in this respect.
