Car with militiamen blown up in the capital of Dagestan

Today in Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, a powerful bomb was triggered on the way of a militia's UAZ van. According to preliminary information, one militiaman was killed and three others were hospitalized with wounds; one is in a grave condition.

The explosion took place today, at about 9:30 p.m., in the Engelsa Street, near School No. 28. The bomb was so powerful that window glasses trembled in the houses located several hundreds meters away from the place of the incident.

Let us note that in the first half of 2009, at least 30 law enforcers and soldiers were lost and over 40 were wounded in the republic. Besides, 12 peaceful residents were lost and 11 wounded. The republic saw at least 26 attacks, bombardments and explosions attempting on militiamen and other power agents. These are the calculations based on the data of the "Caucasian Knot" own correspondents and open sources.

Last year, at least 34 law enforcers were lost and 75 more damaged (wounded or contused) in Dagestan.
