Another rally on Alikhan Dinov's murder held in Dagestan
Today, another rally took place in Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, where protesters expressed their indignation with the murder of Alikhan Dinov, 26, who was afterwards blamed as a militant by local and federal mass media.
The event brought together about one thousand persons.
The rally ended with adoption of an appeal addressed to top-ranking federal and local officials with a demand "to present information about Dinov's involvement in any extremist band formations, isolate the criminal case on the fact of Dinov's murder into separate proceedings, set up a commission for holding investigation with attraction of representatives of the public chamber, committee on human rights, public human rights organizations and dissatisfied party; and to bring official apologies from law enforcement bodies through mass media and pay compensation of moral harm and material damage.
Should their demands be ignored, the relatives reserve the right to address other instances.
Advocate Rasul Kadiev, said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent in his comments on the event that just holding protest action would not solve the problem.
"People should go to courts. The state should be blamed of all deaths. The Dagestan officials report that the have killed 86 members of the armed formations. But who allows the state to commit extrajudicial executions of people? They say that the state has liquidated 86 innocent persons, which is an obvious and blatant violation of the constitutional right to life," said the lawyer.
