Biyakai Magomedov: Kaziakhmedov remains Mayor of Derbent

The ban of the Derbent City Court on summing up the Mayor election totals because of numerous violations will not result in losing this post by Felix Kaziakhmedov, as lawyer Biyakai Magomedov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"If Kaziakhmedov has already been awarded his Mayor's mandate, it can be taken away from him only after ten days if, of course, he doesn't protest against the decision of the Derbent judge at the Supreme Court of Dagestan. There is no doubt that Kaziakhmedov will lodge a counterclaim; same as there's no doubt that he'll find full understanding at the Supreme Court, since Kaziakhmedov is the nominee of local authorities and 'Edinaya Rossiya'," said the lawyer.

The decision of the City Court of Derbent to ban summing up the election became known on October 13, when it was reported by Tofik Yaraliev, brother of Imamali Yaraliev and federal judge in the same court.
